The ALUMINCO SKG120 is a tailor-made unitized curtain wall solution, incorporating unique sound proofing features, offering the possibility to create durable, high acoustic comfort structures. The system is based on a steel frame of 140x140x6 steel hollow structural sections where highly insulating aluminum frames are placed at an angle of 45 degrees with a total face width of 120mm.


Aluminum frames consist of thermal-insulating aluminum profiles by using polyamides of 20mm width. The sealing between the steel frame and the aluminum frames is secured by installing strips of panel stone wool coated with dry wall board. The use of an aluminium cap, enhances the inner face’s final aesthetic. The sealing of the aluminum frames and the existence of a single joint are achieved by using a two-level thermoplastic gasket applied to the perimeter of all the frames. After the glass panels have been installed in each frame, are then fastened and secured by using pressure plates. For sealing the frames, special EPDM gaskets and butyl tapes are placed in contact with the glass panel. Cover plates are placed as a cover for the pressure plates, once acoustic firex materials are placed between them. After cover plates are placed, the construction is insulated from the outdoor conditions by using special rod foam and structural polyurethane adhesive.


The double glazing has total thickness 64,28mm, with the external glass-laminated, consisting of two thermally toughened glass 10mm and 8mm with 4 acoustic interlayers (total thickness 1,52 mm). and the cavity between the glasses of 32mm, filled with argon 90%, with aluminium spacer and Butyl glue. The inner multilayer glass consists of two glasses of thickness 6 mm laminated with 2 acoustic interlayers (total thickness 0,76mm).
