HOW MUCH THEY ENHANCE THERMAL INSULATION AND HOW MUCH THEY BURDEN A PLANT

THERMAL INSULATION BARS

The W450 and W4750 systems are two popular, thermally insulating ranges of frames. They offer high energy performance that meets modern requirements for energy efficiency, sound reduction, aesthetics and safety.

However, when the requirements are even more demanding then these systems can be enhanced with energy bars. These are inserts that are placed internally in the profiles to improve the thermal transmittance (Uf).

The installation of energy bars in the W450 system improves the thermal insulation of the window by 4,17%, while the financial burden for the buyer is +8%.

The results are even better for the W4750 system. With a financial burden for the buyer of +11%, the thermal insulation of the system improves by 14.2%.

If we now compare the two systems with the addition of energy bars, the W4750 imposes a +24% burden on the overall construction and the end user, but provides 17.4% better thermal insulation than the W450 system.

What we conclude is that the use of energy bars, significantly improves the coefficient of thermal performance (Uf) , for the W450 system, but has even better results in the W4750 system. The end user’s burden is low, considering how much it improves the level of thermal insulation.

Depending on how demanding the construction is and the desired level of thermal transmittance(Uf), one of the two systems can be chosen. What must be stressed to the end user, however, is that the thermal insulation benefit offered by thermal insulation bars is a multiple of the cost of the charge.
